img1

The development team of 555 Bartlett has contracted local arts organization Precita Eyes to complete an ambitious mural on the Caesar Chavez face of the new building. Expected to be completed in the early part of 2010, and a part of the permanent art installation of the building, this mural celebrates the rich heritage and diversity of the Mission District in San Francisco.

Precita Eyes is an inner city, community based mural arts organization. This organization seeks to enrich and beautify urban environments and educate communities locally and internationally about the process and history of public community mural art. Their commitment to collaborating with local communities is evident in the murals which can be seen throughout San Francisco. Their dedication to collaboration guarantees that the creative work produced is physically and conceptually accessible to the people whose lives it impacts. Their work brings art into the daily lives of people through a process which enables them to reflect their particular concerns, joys and triumphs. For more info, visit www.precitaeyes.org.
